Hi Everyone,
This is the problem,
My 4K Firestick is plugged into the Sony TV via usb 3.0 socket, connected by my ethernet cable delivering 73 Mbps, plays anything 4K, Ultra, basically everything.
Using the SAME cable I plug it into the ethernet port on the back of the TV and I get a measly 9 Mbps, it cant play HD it stops every 5 secs.

The sony 43" 4K TV KD43XG8196 is connected to the Net using WiFi, the connection speed is 30-40mpbs, it works OK when watching Films using Netflix or Disney+ or Prime, there is no stuttering or buffering.
But watching Youtube Videos I sometimes get buffering and it's quite annoying as it can stop for 10 or 20 seconds.
I also have the new 4K Firestick plugged into the USB 3.0 port on the Sony TV, it is connected directly to my router with a high-quality Ethernet cable.
( My Broadband speed is 75Mbps and is rock solid and never changes, if I run any test whether it be using Analiti, the Netflix speed test, or any speed test I get a 7ms ping and average 73Mbps download and 20Mbps upload. )
I thought I had nothing better to do than just transfer my Ethernet cable to the TV and plug it in, just how wrong can one be?
It is abysmal nothing runs correctly on the TV it is unbelievable slow.
I have come to the decision that it is the Ethernet Interface/port on the sony TV that's the problem. I have read that an ethernet to USB adapter can solve this problem sometimes, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if they have resolved it?
I have just updated the TV software or was it the Firmware? I also deleted the old Analiti test software and installed the new version. I then tested the TV WiFi connection speed using Analiti and the speed is now 70-73Mbps which is a 50% increase compared to some of last week's tests.
Looks like I will just have to use WiFi for the TV, and leave the 4K Firestick connected using the ethernet cable.
Sony will have to do something about the ethernet port as it severely affects the quality of media apps such as Netflix, Disney+, Youtube etc .......... ignore it at your peril
Hi @Riggie5454
I'm sure that your TV does have a 100/10 Ethernet card. One annoying thing about Sony TVs is the software tests the network resilience and will reduce the speed if it thinks there is a problem. Are you using any switches in your network? It may be worth testing. Clearly your 4K Firestick doesn't care.
It may be worth contacting Sony Support, as 10 Mbps is clearly wrong and your TV may be faulty. At the very least fire off an email and see what they have to say.

10Mbps? I don't think it's that low no. I believe further tests needs to be carried our! If the TV is up to date, try to perform a factory reset for it, also check the Ethernet cable.
