SONY customer service drops the ball

My Sony Bravia was updated on September 9 and became completely disabled.  I called tech support right away and after some basic reset trials they stated that I have a known problem and they would have to order a replacement part from their supplier to fix the TV.  I have gotten several emails stating the part is on backorder without an estimated delivery date.  My TV is 2 years old.  This is absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!!!!  I have not had a working television for 4 weeks now.   FOUR WEEKS!!! I bought a SONY TV because they are supposed to be the best of the best but this is unacceptable.  I have reached out to customer support several times and asked to be compensated, given a voucher or sent a new TV but the reply is Sorry, we don't offer that.

In short, what SONY did provide me in exchange for me buying their product was a TV that died after 2 years due to a glitch in THEIR update, can't be fixed in any reasonable time frame, and zero compensation for my inconvenience.  To say I am highly disgusted would be an understatement.  Shame on you SONY!

Hi JillOH,

That's very unusual. I'll try passing this to my contact at Sony, hopefully they'll be in touch soon.

Cheers,
