I have a Sony oled Kd48a9 and we have recently installed some ports and access points in the house. We have a port that goes from the router, to a switch and then to the port. So basically hardwired. The idea was so that I could use an ethernet for the TV for stability. We get 200 mbps but when I do a speedtest on Netflix it shows I am getting 50 to 60 mbps. I switch to wireless and then do same check and get between 120 and 130. So why is this happening? Is their a limit on the LAN port in the TV? 50 to 60 is still sufficient but surely wired should be better speed than wireless. Ethernet cable is Cat6 and yes I have checked the port and I get fast speed with a laptop for example. Its definitely something to do with the LAN in the TV.
Any TV on the market spots just 100 Mbps Lan port so the maximum speed available on WiFi can be higher. I still prefer the wired one that for the most use of a TV is more than enough (netflix i.e. uses maximum 16 Mbps)
