Sony XE9305 won't turn on

Hi all, my XE9305 has started to play up a little bit, by not turning on occasionally?  Was wondering if anyone else has been having these problems?  It seems to be after the new update though, so I assume there are issues?

Thanks for looking

Hi @Diymho   New batteries in the remote? I would try a simple power cycle (leave it off for 5 minutes), soft reset or factory reset.

Note I have a KD-55XE9305 and it works perfectly with v6.6520.

if you need further help then I would contact Sony UK Support .

Hi,  I have a 55XF9005 and I'm facing the same issues. After the last software upgrade ( 2 months ago) is not turning on, I need to plug out from the socket, plug it again and then it is turning on.  Nevertheless, it's taking about 1 minute to turn on, so defintetely is a crappy android software.  In this way I can see Sony going after Nokia if when I buy a Sony Tv I cannot use his basic function, to turn on the TV!!!

I will try to raise a ticket to Sony for this issue;  when I'm paying 1000E for a TV I expect nothing but top quality

Cheers,

Andrei

If you have a usb attached, then try to remove it after switching the TV off!

Another thread that highlights Sony TVs going wrong after the update. When will Sony take responsibility

Unplugging USB devices is a good tip which has been mentioned. Also I did see some info elsewhere which might be worth trying if you have installed the latest Oreo update. Some users have suggested that switching OFF "Service Replacement" in the TV digital settings fixes the problem. This also works around an issue where the TV can freeze when changing channels on the TV.

When "ON" this setting automatically changes the channel if the broadcaster changes transmission of the viewed programme to a different channel. Not sure this is ever used? Not in the UK that I know if.

So to turn this off Home > Settings > Channel Setup > Digital Setup > Technical Set-up > Service Replacement (set to OFF).

Hope this helps.
