Sony XF8096 FireStick problem

For a while now, I've been using a FireStick connected to HDMI 3 on the side of our Sony XF8096 TV.

The other day whilst listening to some music on YouTube I noticed certain elements of the music were missing or very subdued. I tried the FireStick in HDMI 1 on the back of the TV and it was different again. Everything sounded correct. Looking in the sound settings for both inputs there are no differences. The only thing I've noticed is that in the info banner, both say Dolby Digital Plus but when connected to HDMI 3 (the port not producing the correct sound), there is an A between the two speakers on the banner. I've also seen a B here at some point but can't find any reference to what these symbols mean.

So anyway I thought, oh well I'll just leave it in HDMI 1. However when I try and play 4K HDR content on the FireStick in the port on the back, there is very noticeable posterization. Playing a HDR clip from the car chase sequence in No Time To Die for example has lots of pink splodges in the light areas such as the road. I'm guessing this is why the info suggests to use the side ports for 4K devices and to enable enhanced mode?

So my choice is, suffer potentially missing audio frequencies but have good 4K HDR visuals in port 3.or have good audio but blotchy visuals in port 1.

Does anyone have any suggestions and/or info on what the A and B between the speakers on the info banner mean please?

Many thanks!

Only thing I can think of is that the Dual Sound option in your Sound Settings has been set to A or B

but should be set to Stereo. I think the A or B should be selected for bi-lingual broadcasts as usual Sony

instructions on this are not especially clear.

Plug the FireStick back into the HDMI3 socket, make sure it is set for Enhanced in HDMI settings, then check the

Sound> Dual Settings and make sure it set to Stereo.

Have you tried to reset the sound settings? Maybe you've changed something that you really shouldn't have then test it?
