XF9005 WiFi disconnect after Oreo

The above tv keeps getting the WiFi not connected pop up after installing Oreo. Lots of people reporting same issue on other forums and other Sony TVs too. Not sure if connected but most people with XF9005 have a Sky Q hub. Can it please be looked in to.

I separated my 2.4 and 5ghz on my router , and connected just the tv to the 5ghz and it's seemed to remedy the situation. May post again in a week to see if I stand by this comment.

The issue only effects my xf9005 , but no issues with my xf8505 after a factory reset.

Did this resolve the issue for you?

Hi

I'm currently running a test with Sony. I have a meshed Sky wifi setup and
didn't want to disrupt things by splitting.

The 6555 update hasn't improved the lan or wifi dropouts. They have asked
me to disable ipv6 on the lan side of the Sky router and then report back.
So far the ethernet connection has remained stable.

Cheers

I've haven't installed that update yet. Let me know how you get on with them as I also have a meshed sky connection. Only really have the option of using wifi atm.

Original I had Sky broadband and no Sky TV.  The problem as others have said ONLY started after the Oreo update.

Last November I changed to Sky Q, hence new router.  The problem is still there (running wired, not wireless).

I have about 15 other things (not all on at once) either running wired or wireless and every single one of them works 100% perfectly, this PC for example has an IPV6 address.

Some people have suggested disabling IPV6 on my router.  Why should I when it works with everything else and it worked before the Oreo update?

Plus there are numerous Microsoft articles where they say IPV6 shouldn't be disabled.

I totally agree with you.
Reluctantly I've disabled ipv6 on the Lan side.

They also asked me to check the version of Android TV Core services.

Here's the text of their message:-
However, before raising the case to our engineers, we appreciate your kind
patience to perform the below workarounds:
1- Disable the IPv6 on LAN side. (You might need to contact the service
provider to help)
2- Please ensure that the Android TV Core Services application is "Version
1.8.5..." or higher:
Home - Settings- Apps- Android TV Core Services.
Check the version number. If the version is lower than "1.8.5...", please
go to step 3.
3- Update Android TV Core Services application from the Google Play Store:
Home - Apps- Get More App- My App- Android TV Core Services- Update.
We will be waiting for your response so we would be able to raise the
matter to our engineers.

I cant believe Sony have not sorted this yet . I disabled IPV6 over a year ago because of this , fortunately has not caused any issues .

Yes , their reponse to the issue has been very poor. Their initial reaction
is always to deny all knowledge and point you back to the broadband
provider.

You only get a proper response when you insist that a supervisor contacts
you.

Same problem here, I have the Sky Q router, problem only started after Oreo update, Sony want me to disable ivp6 but Sky advise against it when I contacted them. Like other poster says why should we have to alter router settings to get the Sony TV to work when the issue clearly is with the Oreo update. All the other devices in my house don’t have this issue. Have tried WiFi/Ethernet connection but issue remains with both.

Really disappointed with Sony’s customer service on this I’ve been going around in circles with them over this for months now.

Sony sent me

Firmware update to v6.6555

on 29th May.  I upgraded then, so far 4 days later I've had no disconnects

EDIT: I spoke too soon.  It's just disconnected again
