About a few months ago we ordered our Sony BDV-N7200W system. Integration went fairly smooth, connected it to our Smart TV which is also connected to the PS4 and Apple TV meaning sound of those three things is distributed via the sound system.
The new challenge is that I have a record player that I want to connect with it as well. So yesterday I plugged it in using the red and white cables, which Google tells me are the analog RCA cables.
Simply starting the system and putting on a record didn't really do anything. So I figured I needed to in some way tell the system to play music through that connection. The thing is... I have no idea how.
What I've tried:
Pressed pretty much all buttons on the remote;
Navigated to the HDMI ARC port on the tv in the hopes of getting some sort of menu. The only thing I see here are some nice visuals, but in no way (by again pressing all the buttons) am I getting anything else;
Rebooting the sound system while viewing the right HDMI channel. This shows a bluray logo for a short time, following a screen with a blue swoosh, following the visuals again.
Confirmed that with the current setup sound from the Apple TV still runs through the sound system.
So right now I'm both unsure how to use my record player with the system plus how to even open a menu anywhere.
Would love some advise on how to approach this. Step one seems to be getting an understanding about how the menu works. During initial setup I've used the menu to set energy saving mode etc.
