FDR-AX53 XAVC S HD RECORDING AS MP4

I have just take delivery of my new AX53 and testing various settings. I've installed and formatted a micro SDXC, A1, Class 10, U1, IPX7, 128GB.

XAVCHD records correctly as MTS files but XAVC S HD are recording as MP4 files. Do I have too slow a card or is something else going on, please?

I believe I've answered this myself. XAV S video is, I believe, saved as mp4 files. I wish the instructions were clearer about this as they talk about converting files to mp4 for uploading etc. Hey ho.

hey, I found this: When [Dual Video REC] is set to [On], this product records an XAVC S movie and an MP4 movie simultaneously, or records an AVCHD movie and an MP4 movie simultaneously.

What is XAVC S?

XAVC S is a subset format, using many of the superlative techniques and technologies used in XAVC, but intended for consumer products and workflows. It supports 1920×1080 HD and the 3840×2160 pixel version of 4K, known as Quad Full HD, QFHD, UltraHDTV or UHDTV. XAVC S is a lighter codec with Long GOP compression and relatively small recorded file sizes. XAVC S uses the .MP4 file wrapper for greater compatibility and suitability in consumer workflows.
