Handycam DCR TRV140e - cables

Hello

I have a Sony Handycam Camcorder, DCR TRV 140E but seem to have lost the USB cable to connect it to laptop. Tried a couple of products but they don't fit, the 4 pin end is not quite right. Can anyone help with where I can purchase the correct product?

Thanks

The original transfer cable was a simple USB (A) to USB (B) Mini cable but, unless you have an old Windows XP PC still running, USB streaming is no longer supported on newer OS.

I think the only ways to transfer from Digital8 is using the AV out socket to some sort of video capture USB device connected to your PC.

Have a look at the Support Page for your camcorder here:

https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/camcorders-and-video-cameras-tape-camcorders/dcr-trv140e/...

and read the ‘Video Tape Importing Guide’.

I think you will need an AV Out cable as originally supplied with the camera - something like this:-

And either an old VCR with analogue inputs or a USB capture device like this:-

 Good Luck!
