software for handycam using windows 7

Hi,

I have a sony handycam DCR-HC18e. I purchased this some time ago and had every intention of taking lots of film and transferring it to my PC for editing. Time has moved on somewhat since then! I have finally got around to doing this with my new laptop and it says that there are no drivers available for it. I have tried to load the original software, but it states it in not compatible. can anyone offer any assistance please.

many thanks in advance.

Neil

Hi Neil,

You need to update the Picture Package software to the newer Picture Motion Browser Ver 5.6.01 and use an iLink cable to be compatible with Windows 7.

Have a look here: -

Many thanks. Having done some more searching, it looks like the cable may be the issue. Thanks for coming back to me so quickly and I'll keep you updated.

best wishes,
