Update PMB

hi

I am trying to update PMB with the latest version however everytime my PC finishes the download it tells me the connection to the download server failed.

I have many pictures and videos in PMB and it has always worked perfectly.

Now when I try to edit a video the 'trim video and save frame' is greyed out.

I thought if I updated it may work. Not!

Hi Mick

Thanks for that.

I have just installed PMH and everything seems to be ok.

No I don' think so.

It was working perfectly and I'm not aware if I have made any changes that would affect it.

Should I uninstall PMB and start again?

That would be my choice, yes; but read on.

I would also be prepared to consider another image browser. PMB is ok, but there are many other options open to you, both free and inexpensive. Have a Google about. PMB has been replaced by PlayMemories Home as Sony's default browser, and that sort of thing makes me think it's time to move to software that's likely to move with the times, futher down the line.

If you want to try PlayMemories, make sure you have a functional version of PMB beofre ugrading. In this case, I'd suggest you install PMH instead of uninstalling/reinstalling PMB.

This page might be some help: http://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/www/disoft/int/playmemories-home/introduction/for-pmb-user.html

Hi Mick

I have just imported photos and videos from my Handycam to PMH.

I tried to edit videos and get the following message

"Cannot open 'MOV*****.MPG' the file format is not supported."

I don't understand why as I have edited video files before without any problems.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi sukisdad

Is this only happening on videos that you have recently imported or does the error message appear on older content that has worked correctly in the past?

Thanks,

Simon
