Is this a camera error, if so can how can I fix it?

Hi farmyard80, welcome to the Sony Forums.

It sounds as if the memory stick may have corrupted. Try removing it; the camera will default to using its internal (built-in) memory. If it records and plays back images from the internal memory, the problem probably lies with the memory stick.

If that's the case, try a new memory stick. You'll need one anyway if the existing one is corrupted, but there remains a slim chance the camera isn't reading it properly. Make sure you use genuine Sony memory, as there are a lot of fakes out there, especially online. If the price sounds too good to be true it probably is... and the chances of corruption are very much higher with non-genuine memory.

Let me know how that works out.

Cheers

Mick
