HX90V or HX80

I am after a basic point and shoot camera with a decent zoom. I have whittled my choice down to Sony HX90V, HX80 or WX500. I cannot see much difference between these, other than ISO settings and price. I am pretty much an amatuer. Please can someone explain the differences in laymans language, it would be much appreciated.

Hi anadams23,

In the same price range I would suggest to have a look at the RX100 M1 as well. It's a little bit older (I believe it was released in 2012), but it has won many awards for being an outstanding professional point and shoot camera and it fits easily into your pocket. There's a reason it's still for sale after all those years, and it's fantastic value for a compact camera. It does not have a tiltable screen or WiFi connectivity however, but the zoom is a little bit better than later versions of the RX100, and you can find it for quite a bit less than the recommeded retail price (RRP):

If you go to: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/compact-cameras/t/cyber-shot-digital-cameras you can select all 4 camera's. Just tick the Select to compare box underneath each model and then select "Compare now". This will take you to a handy overview where you can easily compare the specifications of the different models.

Best,

Arthur
