Can you use the imaging editor and add on (or anything else on computers or mobile that utilises the gyro) to stabilise 4k footage with it outputting 4k?
thanks
Hi @fly11111111111, welcome to the Community.
I'm not quite clear what you are struggling with here, could you give us a little more info?
Thanks
Mick
Thanks for replying
I want to buy this camera
I want to record in 4k 30p then using the sony app stabilise the footage (i believe that the sony app can utilise the gyro (or accelerometer i'm not sure) in the camera to better stabilise footage in post.
For recent gopro's there is software called reel steady that does this (only for gopros), i believe this is also how both the gopro 7 and dji osmo action stabilise their footage in camera. i don't want either of those cameras.
I've been watching lots of reviews and that's where i heard about this software for the sony.
But it is not clear that i can do this with 4k footage and then output the stabilised footage in 4k.
i believe the app is sony imaging edge. I don't have the camera yet so i can't check or ask sony (without a serial number the contact us page does not work).
I don't care if its a mobile app or desktop software i would just like to end up with superior stabilised footage at the end of the process.
I hope i've managed to explain a little clearer
Hi,
I checked the help Guide for the RX0M2 and it supports SteadyShot by default:
https://helpguide.sony.net/dsc/1910/v1/en/contents/TP0002065623.html
I don't think that there's another app that has the same or similar function.

Here's iphonedo 7.22min in he shows you the app Imaging Edge made by Sony and explains it's use.
At 9mins here says that the app only exports up to 1080p, but this was in March, i was hoping that they might of updated it the app (or desktop software) to export 4K. I've trawled through the Imaging edge site but i believe they haven't updated it. this is a bit odd selling a 4k camera with external software that outputs only 1080p.
i've emailed sony, I'll post the reply here when i get it
cheers
Hi again,
There doesn't seem to be an update released to allow outputting video in 4k with the stabilization like what was done in the video. Maybe a future update will change this.

Thanks, it does look a good option as it is, that would just push it to be exceptionally
Thanks for helping
