Sony repair costs HX90V

I have an HX90V just over a year old.  It looks like some dust or other foreign object has got into the camera - there's a blurry "ghost" in one corner which sharpens as you extend the zoom.  Here in the UK Sony charge 50 pounds to look at the camera and provide an estimate of what it will cost to fix the problem.  If you accept the estimate, they deduct the fifty quid from the bill; if you decide not to go ahead then you lose the fifty.  So, does anybody have any idea what Sony UK's repair costs are? Obviously, if it's going to be too much I'll just put the cost of a repair towards a new camera, but I don't want to spend fifty quid to find that out!  Any input gratefully received.

Hi Brasseagle,

We'll check to see if we can find any information about this and update you when we can. Also, maybe some members will have some advice for you.

Best wishes,

Ed

Hi Brasseagle,

You can get in touch with the Sony centre directly as they can usually provide an estimate for the check up and repair of the camera. This quote is mostly accurate unless the issue is bigger than expected of if physical damage is involved. You can find the contact details here:www.sonypencoed.co.uk/contact

Many thanks for the suggestion and link, Win_88.  I will contact Sony directly and see what they say.
