Our new WH-1000XM3 headphones have been getting rave reviews, so we were super proud to be awarded ‘Product of the Year – Best wireless headphones over £300’ by the UK’s What Hi-Fi? Magazine this year.

Even better noise cancellation

WH-1000XM3 has a wireless, headband design and fantastic noise cancellation. We’d already achieved best-in-class noise cancellation* with the previous model, WH-1000XM2, but we’ve made some improvements.

QN1 is our powerful new processor. It enables highly responsive noise cancellation that adapts quickly to suit your environment. (WH-1000XM3 uses a dual noise sensor: two microphones detect both external and internal noise for optimum effect. This model also features our Atmospheric Pressure Optimiser – great for listening to music on flights.)

Other new features

In addition to the QN1 and improved noise cancellation performance, we’ve made some other changes.

You can now set ‘Power Off’ options, including the ability to keep noise cancellation on even when your music is off – ideal when you want to get some undisturbed sleep during a plane journey, for instance.

Quick Charge for 10 minutes now gives 5 hours of charge, compared to M2’s 70 minutes. (Full charge takes just 3 hours for a battery life of up to 30 hours.)

We’ve also improved on the design. Still light and comfortable, the new version has a more snug fit that creates a better-looking silhouette.

For sound quality, we’ve changed from a digital amplifier to an analogue amplifier. Put simply, the bass character of a digital amplifier can be quite different to that of analogue. We’ve chosen analogue to give more richness and ‘natural-sounding’ sound. You still get high-quality digital signal processing, but you’ll hear the difference in the ‘feel’ of the sound.
