Big screen TVs are no longer reserved for film screenings and sports bars - more people are bringing the big screen home. We explore why.

In the past, image quality often suffered as the screen size increased and sound felt detached from the action the further apart the speakers became, but today’s technology is near impossible to fault. Big screens work, even if you’re short on space.

Advances in design have also played a major role in making big screen TVs accessible to more people, in more homes.

On our latest models, you’ll find much thinner bezels, which means you can choose a larger screen size without increasing the overall size of your TV. This makes for a more absorbing watch too; with less frame to distract, all your focus is on what’s important – the action.

Even if your space dictates the TV being close to your sofa and chairs, 4K TVs with their enhanced resolution keep pictures smooth and sharp. We recommend the height of the TV to be two-thirds of the distance between the TV and your viewing position, meaning you’d need just 100cm space for a 55” TV, 120cm for a 65”, 140cm for a 74”, and 160cm for an 85”.

Big screens are future-proofing homes.

The biggest thing in TV technology right now is 8K, utilising over 33 million pixels, compared to 4K’s 8 million.

8K content is incredibly realistic. It’s something you must see for yourself to really comprehend and watching it on a big screen is really the only way to appreciate it in all its glory – there’s a reason we made our first 8K TV, the Z9G, in massive 85” and 98” screen sizes!
