Calling all book lovers in the Community!

Hi Community,

As we're sure there will be plenty of bookworms among you, we wanted to share a new book highlight from the Reader Store.

The book we would like to present this week is The Hive from Gill Hornby.

The Hive.jpg

The Hive is an irresistible, brilliantly observed novel - warm, witty and true. Wickedly funny, it is also a fascinating and subtle story about group politics and female friendship. From the joys and perils (well, mainly perils) of the Lunch Ladder, to the military operation that is the Car Boot Sale, via the dos and don'ts of dressing your child as a dalek, all human life is here.

Watch out for special content on this book that we'll be sharing with you shortly here in the eReading section, where you can also discuss what you thought of the book with the rest of the Community.

We hope you enjoy this book and look forward to reading your views on it.

Hello bridgeslam m(intuiging moniker!)

You'll to register and generally set things up as per the manual, and you'll be able to grab free (legal only, remember!) from the free libraries available (Gutenberg Project, MobileRead, etc...) and the major online retailers, and although Ireland doesn't have its own Sony shop, you'll need to contact Support to check you can use the UK/ Europe version. (unless a more savvy tech ace can help handily here....?).

However, I'm not to sure what the situation is if the reader is an Oz model i.e. if the configuration/software set-up is much different - again, research needed here.

Hope this helps.

As promised, here's some special content about Gill Hornby's The Hive, the book featured last week.

Did you know that the author is from a family of writers, with Nick Hornby as her brother and Robert Harris as her husband? Find out about that and lots of interesting aspects of her book in a recent interview published in The Guardian.

You can also check out the video of the author chatting about her book here.

I hope you enjoy the book and the extra content!

You can borrow books for free from South County Council library and you can buy from Easons and Waterstones along with some other International sites.
