Connecting the ht-zf9 sound bar to the sony kd-65x8509c TV

So here is the issue. any help would be great.

Blu-ray and sky box works through the sound bar, but when accessing via the TV's andriod youtube - netflixs and amazon nothing comes out. I have to use the TV speakers!.....

Have you tried connecting the TV to the soundbar using the optical output?
