Cricket or Not Cricket

Whats your oppinon on the following?

  1. Light hearted banter
  2. Sledging
  3. Describing someone as "poor and weak" (D Warner to J Trott)
  4. "Get ready for a *beep* broken arm" - (M Clarke to J Anderson)

For me

  1. Cricket
  2. Cricket as long as its not crossing into indecency (ie racism etc)
  3. Cricket
  4. Not Cricket.

Light hearted banter is fine, if you really know the person (been playing against them for years) a bit of sledging is fine, part of the game.  Anything else is, as the old adage goes, just not cricket.

So.

1:Cricket

2:Cricket (as long as it is about cricket and/or as above)

3:Not on the pitch so not Cricket

4:In the world of stump mics and 360 coverage its a little daft, a poor example and not something I would want the skipper getting involved with.  For me, not cricket.

Interesting

1: Cricket

2: Coming down just on the side of Cricket

3: Publicly? Not Cricket dear boy.

4: Not cricket... although Mr Anderson should have responded with where he was about to put his bat :yahoo:

Sadly all are part of cricket nowadays

You know its bad (from both sides) when cricketers from the 70's and 80's think it was a bit much!

I have no doubt, although when you bowl as fast as they did (not sure there has been anyone faster than Thompson) you don't have to say a great deal to get to the opposition batsmen.  Especially before the use of helmets!

Hopefully it will stay on the pitch for the rest of the series.

Disagree

Cricket - No point continuing a lost cause and dishing out a sub-standard product they even they are not going to be happy with, even to the detriment of fans and backers alike.

But then again, Not Cricket - For actually releasing the unfinished game.

The game itself barely resembled cricket! Some of those videos were brilliant!
