MAIN AND SUB SATELLITE BUILT-IN TUNERS IN SONY BRAVIA TV

Recently I bought SONY BRAVIA KD-65XF8796. It’s got 2 satellite tuners (main and sub). When connected both main and sub sat tuners to 2 sat dishes separately by coaxial cables set for tuning / searching the sat programmes, only main sat tuner was detected. There was no sub tuner detection even if I swapped the coaxial cables.

Is the sub sat tuner inactive or some other way to make it ‘’alive ‘’.

What’s the sub sat tuner for then ?

Hi iany59,

You're right. I can see that your TV has two satellite tuners. But I don't think that the sub port is designed for receiving satellite channels. I believe you can only use it if you want to use the recording feature as well.

Have you tried to group your satellite connections using a  DiSEqC switch and connect them all to the (Main) socket?
