Hello
Trying to decide whether to ditch my youview box in favour of direct recording from my TV and wold apreciate some guidance on:
How may programmes I'd be able to record at at once when I'm watching/not watcing the TV
Any reccomendations on HHD's
How much space a programme lasting an hour would require
Is watching the programme I'm recording the only way to pause 'live' TV?
Thanks in advance.
Hi @CP1919
I'm fairly sure there was an online 'help' page for all this but it seems to have moved... I'll ask around and see if it's still available.
Cheers
Mick
Hi CP1919,
With your TV you can only record content from one source at a time and since it has only one tuner, you won't be able to watch a channel and record from another.
For the supported HDDs that you should consider, check this link.
As for how much content you can record, it will depend on the transmission rate of the channel you are recording from and it ranges from around 350 hours when the rate is 3Mbps to around 100hours for a rate of 10 Mbps up to 44hours when it's 24Mbps (on a 500GB drive, you can multiply the numbers for different capacities so a 1 TB drive will accommodate 700h @3Mbps)
And finally, you can't pause live TV on this TV. For this you would need an Android TV that has Youview built-in.
Hope this helps,
