SLT65A Auto Focus

I have suddenly developed problems gaining focus in the AF mode while shooting still pictures. I tried using autofocus, macro and sport modes. I have tried using AF in P, A, S and M. I increased and reduced ISO and white balance and shifted the Object Tracking on and off. Still no luck. Any suggestions?

Hi Spriff,

Welcome to the community.

I'm just going to try to find some answers for you. In the meantime, maybe someone else in the community might have some ideas.

Thanks,

Pascale

Hello @Spriff,

maybe you accidentally toggled the little slider on your cameras lens to "MF" - if that is the case, the camera can't focus automatically, since the mechanic is disengaged.

I had a similar problem which was simply solved by taking the lens off and back on again.

Hi Spriff,

Make sure the camera is running the latest firmware version using the downloads section here: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/a-mount-body-slt-a60-series/slt-a65

Also, try initializing the camera using the steps on page 62 of the manual here: https://https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/res/manuals/4287/42879531M.pdf

could be, that the contacts were slightly corroded or that some dirt was preventing contact.
