Very disappointed

I purchased PS5 for my son last year. Not even a year later the controller is broken. Went to Best Buy but I was told to contact Sony. I spent hours on the phone and was told I need to send it to repair center. I will have to pay the shipping cost. Is not enough that I paid a lot of money for the PlayStation now I have to pay for shipping? I might as well buy a new controller. Sony should be ashamed selling junk to customers!!!!
