Get Tv sound from HT-RT5 to play through my Hear.go SRS-HG1 in other room.

I have a playstation, sky and PC linked up to my TV through the HT-RT5 surround-soundbar. I want to play the sounds from the inputs on my soundbar (HDMI 1,2,3 etc) through both my HT-RT5 and on the Here.go in the kitchen.

At the moment I have a group in song pal, but I can only play music from apps on my phone or laptop in different rooms. I can't select the soundbar inputs in the group.

Hi Hill,

There is some advice on adding compatible speakers via Songpal here. Please also try the instructions to set up your SRS-HG1 via wi fi here. You will find some troubleshooting tips in this manual too . Let us know how you get on.

Best wishes,

Ed

Hi Ed

I already have both speakers working on songpal/music centre and I can play music from my phone on both at the same time. However, I cannot get anything other than the music on my phone to play. I want to be able to use othher sources eg AUX in, HDMI, USB etc etc.

For example I want a playstation that is plugged into my soundbar to play sound on all speakers in the group, not just the soundbar.

Hi hill77,

According to the devices you have in your set up, it is not possible to use Multiroom to output anything apart from the content on your phone (the only other possible source are the Blu-ray players listed here).

On the other hand, it is possible to use Wireless surround to have more audio inputs, but your HT-RT5 is not compatible with it. You can find more information about this here.

Hope this helps.

Is this likely to ever change? Feels like the hardware is capable just bad software.

Hi Hill77,

I don't know, but I'll pass it on to Sony for their consideration.
