I have a 35-year-old Sony Mini HiFi system model MHC-6700 - parts for which are long ago discontinued. The tuner and CD player still work and the amplifier and Sony speakers still put out excellent sound. I've had it from new and local Sony repair men have enthused over the quality of the innards. However, the original remote-control RM-S670 is giving trouble. We now only use it to control the volume and on/off, and these are now hit-and-miss.
Does anyone know of a Sony replacement remote that will work with the MHC-6700 or know of a third-party remote that can be programmed to provide at least these two functions?
Not even Sony seem to have this information, so I'm hoping someone here may have run into the same problem and solved it.
