Audio settings

Re UBP-X800 blueray player. This is attached to a LG OLED55C8PLA 55" 4K Ultra HD HDR OLED Smart TV and LG Soundbar. Not very loud when playing 4K DVDs Can anyone say what are optimum audio settings for this player please, I do not understand all the abbreviations in the manual to make sense of it! Thanks

Hi Michaelpaul47,

DSD is an audio format , a high resolution one. The volume depends mainly on the content so I'd say try different settings until you find the one that suits you best.

Hi there,

Welcome to the community.

There's some information about audio outputs from the various jacks here.

You can also find more set up information in the manual here.

Best wishes,
Ed

Thank you , I have the manual. My point is that being an average user I do not know, for example, what ' [DSD Output Mode] [Auto]: Outputs DSD signal from HDMI OUT jack when playing Super Audio CD & DSD format file (if the connected device also supports DSD) means. DSD?

And that goes for the rest of the seven settings. Downmix anyone?

It may be the factory settings are right and 4K disks just need the volume at a full 100 to give a semblance of what Netflix delivers at setting 30. It would just be nice to know.
