BDP-S280 - half the audio is missing - only newer dvd films+BR

Hi,

I have a problem with the BDP-S280. For some reason half the audio (normally voices) are missing on all newer dvd films and all Blu-ray films I have tried. On older films everything is working perfectly...?

The older films that are working fine are Dolby Digital and so are the others that are not accoridng to the back of the dvd's.

The machine is connected to the tv using a HDMI cable. The TV is a older flatscreen (likely 5-6 years old) -model Alfaview.

I have checked that blu-ray has the latest software update, so that is not the problem. Could it be the TV or any other suggestions?

Hi,

this is likely to be a sound settings issue in the menu of the player itself, have a look there if not sure what your doing set everything to Auto and see if it solves the problem.

should you wish to eliminate your tv as the possible problem you can try your player on another tv, either one of yours or possibly a friends set.
