I have just bought both as Media Players mainly so I can view photos / play music.
I prefer to use the 490 but am bitterly disappointed that it does not support zoom and pan for my PHOTOS & it stops playing MUSIC if you try to select a next track.
The PS3 does.
Is there any way to sort this?
Is there a way to suggest to Sony to include in an update, or at least be informed it is not possible or unlikely.
One is going back and prefer it to be the PS3.

On a further point the 490 reads my external drive no problem. I am formatting and labelling folders just to get the PS3 to read the drive with no luck yet. With this I think the 490 has newer technology. Why O' why did Sony leave out basic functions??
