Hi - thanks for that, but I've already tried it. The player bitstreams audio from other sources fine, including DD+ from the Amazon app. It's not the end of the world, and I can live with it. It just seems like an odd design decision, especially as the older, supposedly inferior, Sony model I owned did this fine. The old model also supported DTS-HD in an mkv container which the new model doesn't, but that's a gripe for another post.
