BDV-L600 mkv subtitles problem

Is there any compatibility problem with mkv files and srt in BDV models? The mkv video displays correctly but the subtitles are not displayed in ddv-l600. However with divx files and subtitles everything works as expected. The player is upgraded to the last firmware version.

I hope there is a workaround because it is unacceptable for Sony to have such a limitation.

the only way i have found so far for this is to hard code the subs and MKV files using software called AVIAddXSubs
