BDVE4100 Surround issue

Hi all,

First post here so sorry if I don't make too much sense.

I am a bit confused how to set everything up. I currently have the system connected to a Samsung KS8000 via HDMI ARC and a Sky Q box, PS4 and Xbox one connected to the TV through HDMI.

Currently, I have the 'Sound Effects' option set to on, but the issue is, having the PS4 set to DTS the channels appear to be messed up when streaming Netflix or using Sky. By messed up I mean there is speech coming from the surround speakers behind me etc.

Changing 'sound Effects' to Pro Logic seems to correct everything, but isn't that just simulating 5.1 from a 2 channel source? Or would the system know to provide true 5.1 when the source is there automatically and simulate it when there is a 2 channel source?

Or do I just leave sound effect on and change everything manually?

Cheers.

Hi Squelchy20,

As shown on page 24 of the manual all you need to do is set the Sound Mode to auto which automatically detects the format coming from the source and plays it respectively (2- channel or 5.1 surround)

I'm just wondering why don't you select surround on the PS4?
