Hi Guys,
I recently purchased this 3d blu ray player because I have a sony smart Tv in another room and really like the media streaming functions on it and after reading on various shopping sites the BDVEF200 is DLNA certified I thought I'd go with that,
However is seems the sites that list it as having DLNA support are incorrect. I've got it all networked up and the it has no problem with all the online content but it won't pull anything from my media server.
Anyone know if sony are likely to push an update to give it DLNA support? Is there any other way I can pull media from my server? Perhaps from the internet browser menu if I created a web server on my media server?
I can't go back to the days of loading media onto a hard disk!
Yeah, I just bought the same device myself because I wanted the DLNA feature. I'm very upset and disappointed to realize it's not there. All the major sites mention DLNA for this device. The truth is the Sony site doesn't, but I hadn't checked.
Hopefully, a firmware fix will be available for download but I'd like someone from Sony to reassure us about that.
Thanks
Jean-Marie
Hi
No plans to add DLNA to this model as this is one of the key step-up features of the next model up I'm afraid. If you have only just purchased it, you could see if your retailer would be happy to exchange it?
Thanks
