Hey all
Odd problem with a new setup that hopefully someone can help with as honestly I'm stumped.
We have the following setup;
HTPC -> HDMI -> KDL-40EX723
KDL-40EX723 -> HDMI (via Port 1) & Optical -> BDV-E880
The HTPC has FreeSat tuners (UK) and handles all media for us. All HDMI cables are 1.4 spec. Not sure why I bothered with optical cable as ARC should handle this fine - just haven't unplugged as it means moving stuff again.
Until yesterday when I turned TV on and fired up a FreeSat HD channel (BBC1, ITV1 etc...) the BDV-E880 turned on, switched to TV and a wonderous sound filled the room.
Today, silence.
If I set the sound on to use TV speakers the sound track is there, albeit sounding a bit weedy.
SD channels though are coming through loud and sorta (well it's normally 2 channel stereo) clear on the BDV-E880.
It is entirely possible the kids have been button bashing but short of resetting the lot to factory I cannot find an option which fixes the HD sound.
Anyone have any ideas why the sound has become selective?
Thanks in advance
