Have connected Sky box through rdr-dc205 - Sky works fine when recorder in standby mode, not when switched on. Help!

I wonder if I am doing something wrong in the 'Setting external decoder programme positions' section of initial setup. Not sure what programme position to select - I get numbers from 1 -99. Not sure what channel I should select as the external decoder programme position - I get numbers from 21 - 69 and then cc1 - cc46. I have tried selecting programme 21 and channel 21 so that they agree but no luck. I have tried cycling through the available INPUT options to ensure I am on the correct signal source but either get a plain white screen, dark screen or interference/white noise. I think the cables are correctly connected as the Sky signal displays on the normal source on the tv when the dvd recorder is in standby mode.

I think you should read the section regarding connection to a video recorder rather than an external decoder. If everything work fine, you should be able to watch sky selecting Line1 as input on the dc205; otherways use an additional SCART directly from sky to the tv as suggested.

Thank you, have finally found what seemed to be the problem, had the wrong option selected when I was setting it up as a decoder which meant I wasn't geting the option to choose L1 from the Input menu and no signal was displaying. Seems fine now, attempting to record Megamind from the Sky planner to the HDD at the moment so we'll see how it goes :

I really don't know what is meant for the decoder setup. It shouldn't be used, just the normal AV connection.
