Hi all,
I have had my DAV-SC5 for years now without any problems. In the past couple of months it wouldn't turn on so I would have to unplug & plug back in again for it to work. It has now decided to remain on standby (red light on front) and not do a thing. I've tried the unplugging, leaving, plugging back in trick but nothing. The only slight clue I have to go on is there is a regular ticking noise coming from the fan at the rear of the player. It seems that the standby LED slightly flashes in time with this so it looks like there is power trying to get through. I can also see the fan twitching slightly with each tick
I am no techie when it comes to capacitors etc but can follow instructions! (Managed to fix a red ring of death on my xbox anyway!).
The only slight info I can find is that it may be the power transformer or AV convertor.
Any help will be massively appreciated & any direction to somewhere to get any replacement parts would be welcome,
