Help!

I have a Sony DAV-DZ280 home theatre system attached to a Sony tv. It's worked fine until this weekend when I think one of the kids has changed a setting and I can't figure out how to change it back.

Here's the problem. When I try to play a DVD the only sound I get is the background sound.....music, action wind blowing but no narrative.  What narrative there is is muffled and inaudible. I've reset the player to original settings. Doesn't work.

The tv sound is fine when played through the system so it doesn't appear to be a wiring issue.

Can anyone restore sanity please with seen help?

Hi there

When playing a DVD,

1 - Make sure the Sound Source is set to DVD (p23 of manual)

2 - Make sure all sound effects are switch off and set to ADF STD (more for testing purposes) (p25,p26 of manual)

3 - Ensure that Audio Format is set correctly, I dont know how to explain it, but see page 29 on Manual

Hope that helps
