After initially working perfectly, several weeks ago my BDP-S390 started failing to deliver any internet content: on selecting one of the internet services the player would pause for a while and then return to the menu.
Having now tried various things to resolve the issue, including a complete reset, and a switch from wifi to wired network connection, the machine is in an even worse state than when I started: it initially had the icons for things like iPlayer, but now it doesn't even have those.
When I attempt to connect, I either get a long stall at the 'Connecting 1/3' stage followed by 'network connection cannot be confirmed', or I get 'checking the network connection...' followed by a return to the menu.
However the network diagnostics report the connection working, and the machine was able to do an online update of firmware to M11.R.0369, which I think proves there's nothing fundamentally wrong with the hardware.
My problem appears to be identical in symptoms to the following one reported against a BDP-S370:

That issue was resolved by replacing the unit but that was over a year ago and I'm hoping that by now there is a simpler fix?
Thanks,
Bob
