Is ChromeCasting to HT-NT5 HiRes @ 96k/24bit ?

I am sending via ChromeCast HiRes 96k/24bit audio streamed from Qobuz. 

Does the ChromeCast integration on the HT-NT5 operate at HiRes (96k/24) 

(BTW I tried connecting a hardare ChromeCast Audio - via optical tos link to the HT-NT5 optical (TV)  input and it was silent with 96k signal, it would only play audio at the lower 44.1k sample rate)

One problem, 

It seems that GoogleCast isnt possible with surround speakers running.

So thats no good for 5.1 audio...

Unless I have that wrong?

I bought a Chromecast Audio which outputs 96k 24bit hi res signal 

But it's not being accepted by the HT-NT5 optical input. 

44.1k k Redbook audio plays but when is send hires music signal (96k 24bi) to the chromecast audio there is no sound 

Can you help me troubleshoot please? 

What hi res sample rates does the HT-NT5 accept?

And what inputs does it accept it on?

Does it accept Multichannel (5.1) audio via optical?

Does it accept Multichannel (5.1) audio via HDMI?

Please confirm / clarify the HT-NT5 HiRes connectivity options

Here are some tests I did today 

Equipment list 

(hardware)

iPhone 7 plus  

Chromecast Audio 

Optical cable

Analog cable

Sony HT-NT5 Soundbar surround system 

(software)

Google Home app - with Chromecast Audio configured

Qobuz app - with sublime HiRes subscription

Note: for all tests the volume setting on the Qobuz app was at maximum)

Casting from iphone running Qobuz app set to stream 44.1k 16bit - optical out - to Sony HT-NT5 optical input - WORKS OK (plays multichannel / surround 5.1 audio) 

Casting from iphone running Qobuz app set to stream 96k 24bit - optical out - to Sony HT-NT5 optical input -  DOESN'T WORK / SILENT

Casting from iphone running Qobuz app set to 44.1k 16bit - analog out - to Sony HT-NT5  analog input  - WORKS OK (plays stereo audio)  

Casting from iphone running Qobuz app set to 96k 24bit - analog out - to Sony HT-NT5  analog input  - WORKS OK (plays stereo audio)  

Alternate system check 

Sony SRS - XB2 speaker (analog in) As above signal out from the the CCA to the analog ins worked when Qobuz was set to 44.1k and 96k)

I don't have another system that accepts optical in to test on.

So the problem is the optical 96k 24bit signal path
