I have an RDR-HXD560 which has served me well for a number of years. I have recorded and played back hundreds of TV programmes over the years without problems. However, when I try to record programmes from the BBC Red Button service (usually Moto GP) on playback there is NO SOUND. I have contacted the BBC about this and was told that it was probably the recorder setup.
Can anyone shead any light on this?
It is possible that since you have used it a lot of times, its life already desolved. You can have it checked by a technician if you know anyone.
There is only an options to be adjusted that I can see: System menu/Initial setup/Audio in/Bilingual REC (I'm not sure about the translation, I have the Italian user manual): here you can setup A/L for the primary language and B/R for the secondary one. You can check via the audio button on the remote if this BBC channel has more than one audio channel and than try to change this setting.when recording.
