Playback for BD-R disk recorded with BD recorder selling in Japan.

I have got some BD-R disks which recorded Japanese TV program from my Japanese friend, and tried to play these disks in SONY BDP-S370, but screen shows that the disk cannot be played though I can choose the each program.

I would appreciate if someone could help.

Hi Sammuk, Could it be that Japan works on the Video format NTSC and we here in UK have PAL? I have friends in Japan and when I create a Video for them I have to burn it in NTSC.

Hope this helps as I am not quite sure yet if Blu-Ray works the same as DVD's [let us know]

Thank you for your comments.

My TV is NTSC compatible, so this is not the issue, and DVD disks recorded with Japanese make recorder can be played on this Blueray player.
