Playing subtitle .srt file on sony bluray player?

I recently bought a home theatre system http://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/all-in-one-home-cinema-systems/bdv-e4100

I tried to play movies through usb with subtitle .srt file.but It doesn't show the subtitle.

how can i fix this?

Hi there

Theres nothing in the specifications that i can see that says its supports .srt files, either via USB or DLNA.  As you have tried via USB in your original post and it doesnt work, then id have to conclude that .srt subtitle files arnt supported via USB either.

.SRT sub files WILL play in SONY Bluray Players via USB if encoded as .m2ts files or .mkv files but NOT .mp4 files. Convert the file with the .srt sub file to MKV file and it'll play (with subs) in pretty much any player. Including SONY 🙂
