Problem playing avi (xvid) and mpg files from DNLA server

My BDP-S780 firmware was updated a few days ago. Since that time I can no longer play mpg files from my NAS/DNLA server (WD/Twonky). In addition avi (xvid) files take much longer to load and all controls, such as fast forward, no longer work. The same files streamed from my Windows7 PC work ok. I am disappointed with this change since I specifically tested and bought this device for this capability. Anyone else notice this problem? Are there any workarounds?

On 15/3/12 the WD MyBookLive firmware was upgraded. The problems with playing avi and mpg files have now gone away. It seems Sony were ahead of the game with their updates, hence an incompatibility problem. The BDP-S780 is now fully operational.
