sony bdv-n590

Hi all,

I am trying to use an optical switch to allow me to have two optical inputs in to my reciever, unfortunately it does not work.  I have tried both devices connect directly to the optical in and they work fine.  I also know that the optical switch works as it worked on my previous system.

Does the bdv-n590 work with an optical switch? Any help or info anyone could give on this matter would be greatly appreciated!!

THat does sound odd...

Maybe your switch is faulty.

actually, I just noticed I've got this switch:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/CYP-Optical-Audio-Switcher-Remote/dp/B004VFPZZA/ref=sr_1_23?ie=UTF8&qid=1390...

4-1 with external power.

Works a treat for me...

Have you got any other device you can route through the switch?

Good luck...

I'm using an optical switch no problem.

I've got my ps3 and tv hooked up to the bdv n590 and can switch without a problem between the two using my optical switch.

What switch are you using?

Thanks for your help! I think I might just need to purchase a new switch.

But saying that I am taking delivery of a new tv tomorrow that outputs 5.1 via its optical, so shouldn't need to use a switch. (I think!!!)
