Sony RDR-HDX860 locked

I have a RDR-HDX860 and it is locked on "Welcome". I have tried unplugging the power cable, reconnecting and pressing the power button for 10sec but it remains locked.

Does anybody have a suggestion on how it can be fixed?

Try a hard reset - make sure the recorder is turned on and remove any disc.  Hold the STOP button while turning off the power.  All the settings should be reset and the recorder should turn off.

If this fails, please post which transmitter you get your signal from and the firmware version (if known).  Also, when the problem started.  We can then ask Sony to investigate.

Many thanks for the response.

This worked the first time I tried it. I was able to power off the unit and then power it back on.

However, the problem has since returned and the reset will not work and the display is locked on WELCOME.
