HI Maxvilla,

I don't think this will work, or to be exact, it won't be effective. I'd say either connect the sound bar and the 2 rear speakers directly to the TV via HDMI cable to the ARC port or connect speakers of nominal impedance of 6-16 ohms to the AV receiver then connect the receiver to the TV.

Cheers,

Hi Maxvilla,

You can just set up the speakers connected to the amp to output surround sound without connecting a sound bar.

I found some speaker set up suggestions in the manual of the device, you can find them on page 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28 here: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/res/manuals/4686/1a5e9c2b4143ad36dd5cb360f2a11851/4686524...

Hello Jim,

If you still need help, then see if the below comment helps.

Assuming you are a newbie (judging from your question) your anxiety is understandable. However do be encouraged and begin by reading and following the manufacturers' user instructions. That should usually be enough to get you from unboxing to set-up and enjoying your gear. You can not really go wrong.

If you are still not sure, do online searches for guides e.g "how to connect my Onkyo Dolby Atmos speakers to my Sony STRDN1080".

Check out this "whathifi" help article at the link below (please copy the link and paste it to your browser search bar) 😞 https://www.whathifi.com/advice/how-to-set-your-av-receiver-and-get-best-sound.

If you are really stuck, contact AV geeks#experts such as, RicherSounds, AudioVisualonline, AVforums etc.

I hope this helps.
