STR- DN1080 4k Upscaling

Hello all,

Just bought a STR-DN1080 receiver. This is probably a silly question, but I'm wondering if the receiver will upscale the picture from a Sky Q 1TB box? Sky box is connected to the receiver by HDMI and is outputting 1080p signal. Receiver upscaling is set to auto, but TV is still showing the input from the receiver as 1080p. I would've thought the TV would show the signal as 3840 x 2160 if upscaling was happening? 

I know the receiver specifically needs a 1080p/24 signal in order to upscale, but I'm not sure if that is what the Sky Q box is outputting? 

The Denon AVR 3500H seems to offer upscaling via analogue or HDMI from a variety of input signals rather than specifically needing 1080p/24. Maybe the Denon would be better for me?

Hi Elrey79,

As far as I am aware, the up scaling will not show the same signal as the actual 4k.

So, I believe that it's pretty normal that the amp displays 1080.
