STR-DN1080 Home Menu

Dear Community,

Could anyone tell me if the Home Menu SHOULD be displayed every time i change my tv's input to hdmi arc ??

Is there a logic behind this or is it a bug that should be fixed ? Does every owner experience the same thing or is it relying on TV's brand ?

Yes, sony claims it is a tv issue...

Could you tell me please if your tv wakes up the receiver when you select the arc as an input from your tv remote?

OK, Thanks !

Just wanted to find out if it related to my tv brand (LG).

But obviously it doesn't as i think you mentioned that yours is samsung! Maybe it does perfectly match only with sony tv ... Weird !

Found this topic on this forum, it is a TV issue. Turn off Anynet-(HDMI-CEC) under settings, External Device manager.

Not sure why it works, but it does. That constant home menu was annoying.

I will try this with my TV. I have an LG Oled TV and it's doing this as well, but not every time which makes it very annoying.

The only guaranteed solution is disabling this advertised feature, and then purchasing a 3rd party product, namely a Logitech Harmony remote. In disabling HDMI-CEC, you will also lose HDMI-ARC.

Sony will most likely not fix this issue as it's been a well known bug for 2 years now and still nothing....

Mine does this too with a Philips 55OLED804.  I need ARC on for Atmos from TV etc. and for ARC I need CEC turned on which is what's causing the problem.  From looking at other forums it seems other amps don't do this so can only assume it's a Sony thing.  Super annoying!

I've kinda got round it as I use a Harmony Elite but it's either a bug or a very badly though out feature!
