Amazon Alexa just learned a new skill!
From 10th November, you’ll be able to use Alexa to control your Android TV from Sony. Here’s what you’ll be able to do:
Voice control
Voice control will be even easier. Now, you won’t need to use the TV’s name every time. Instead, just ask Alexa directly to power on, fast forward and more (after the first time you use the TV name to give an instruction).
For example, say:
“Alexa, turn on TV.”
Alexa will say, “Okay” and the TV powers ON.
You say, “Alexa, volume up.”
Alexa says, “Okay” and the TV volume goes up.
Multi-TV support
You can also control all your supported Android TVs from Sony with Alexa. Complete the set-up on each TV with the ‘Voice Control Set-up with Alexa’ app. Give each of your TVs a different name, but select the same Google account for each TV.
How to get started
Simply launch the ‘TV Control Set-up with Amazon Alexa’ app on the Home screen of your TV, then follow the instructions.
The app installs automatically on supported TVs – so if it’s missing, your TV may not be supported.
