Hello. For your information most free apps downloaded from Play Store (Google) contain ads as a mean to generate revenues, since they are free. This isn't related only to Sony phone but most phones applications are running like this. Websites also display ads, youtube too,...

Yes, @depaul99, some of the apps in Play Store does contain ads and some does not. For those apps that do, there is most often a text just next to the download-icon mentioning that the app may contain ads or in-app purchases.
